Who should attend this course?
This Aquatic rehabilitation course is suitable for physiotherapists and other therapists who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in aquatic rehabilitation.
You need to demonstrate attendance of an appropriate course in Aquatic Exercise / Therapy, e.g. Foundation Course in Aquatic Physiotherapy or an equivalent course, or evidence of active participation in an aquatic environment.
The Aquatic rehabilitation course can be taken as a stand alone course or as part of a postgraduate award.

Course content
The Aquatic rehabilitation course, which is approved by the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists builds your existing knowledge of hydrodynamics, physiology of immersion and skills in aquatic therapy.
It gives you a critical approach to aquatic rehabilitation theory and practice from an evidence-based perspective.
The Aquatic rehabilitation course consists of lectures, practical tutorials and directed learning tasks.
You will participate in discussions regarding the theoretical considerations and practical issues involved in the management of patients through the use of aquatic rehabilitation.
You will draw on past experiences of clinical aquatic practice and actively evaluate relevant published material and contemporary clinical practices related to the aquatic exercise and therapy field.
You learn about the aquatic management of patients with musculoskeletal, rheumatological, neurological and chronic dysfunction, resulting from disease, trauma or surgery.
The practical elements include aquatic techniques, pool exercise programmes, advice and education in relation to aquatic rehabilitation.
