Advancing neuromusculoskeletal clinical practice

Who should attend this course?

This Advancing neuromusculoskeletal clinical practice course is compulsory for physiotherapists undertaking the MSc Advanced Physiotherapy (Neuromusculoskeletal) course, who have successfully completed the university based lower and upper quadrant courses.

Course content

This Advancing neuromusculoskeletal clinical practice course offers the unique opportunity of a period of clinical mentorship under the guidance of a member of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) which is further supported by university-based work and independent study.

You will be expected to complete at least 150 hours within the clinical setting, in addition to effectively managing patients with neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction and applying theory to practice using advanced clinical reasoning skills.

You are encouraged to critically evaluate your practice through reflection in order to promote continuing professional development.

Assessment

This consists of a continuous placement assessment and two patient examinations which occur towards the end of the placement.

There are also a number of academic pieces to be submitted prior to, and after the clinical placement.

Home students- £800 course fee, plus £500 placement fee (TBC).
