About the course
What will I learn?
- Knowledge and skills relevant to the prevention and management of acute and chronic wounds and associated skin conditions
- The role of the tissue viability team in risk management, policy formulation and decision making within the health care organisation
- How to manage change and evaluate organisational and professional agendas influencing care delivery in order to implement evidence-based practice
- How to appraise the evidence base for tissue viability practice.
Entry requirements
- Normally registration with a professional body allied to health.
- Normally completion of 120 credits at level 2. If you have no level 2 points they can be made up from tissue viability modules available within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
- Working in, or have regular access to, a clinical environment supporting patients with compromised tissue viability.
