About the course
- The degree in Sports Therapy is an ideal course for those who wish to train in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries.
- We offer a sandwich year enabling you to go on a full year placement to gain invaluable clinical experience with professional sports teams, either within the UK or overseas.
- Graduates are eligible for full membership with the Society of Sports Therapists.
- Additional opportunities include visits to observe human dissections, massaging at events such as the London Marathon, and presenting research at national conferences.
Entry requirements
All applicants are required to hold GCSE (or recognised equivalent qualifications) English language, maths and double award science (or two single sciences) at grade C or above.
A-level applicants: 300 UCAS points to include Grade C in A Level Biology or other relevant life sciences. GCSE English Language, Maths & Double Science (or 2 single sciences)at Grade C or above (PE is not accepted as a science GCSE ).
BTEC applicants: BTEC National Diploma Sports & Exercise Science or Applied Science (no other BTEC Diplomas are acceptable) GCSE English Language, Maths & Double Science (or 2 single sciences) at Grade C or above (PE is not accepted as a science GCSE ).
Access Course applicants: Successful completion of Access to HE Diploma with 30 Level 3 credits at Distinction.
Foundation Degree applicants: Foundation Degrees that are science based will be considered on an individual basis, with requirements equivalent to the standards above.
Other qualifications: We are pleased to consider International Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificate, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers and other qualifications on an individual basis.

International applicants: We are pleased to consider international qualifications on an individual basis. All applicants are required to demonstrate a strong science background and requirements will be equivalent to the standards above.A recognised English language qualification will be required, with a level equivalent to IELTS 6.5.
All places are subject to interview and relevant CRB checks. Applicants who meet or demonstrate the potential to meet our entry criteria will be invited to a group interview.
We look for strong interpersonal and communication skills, an enthusiasm for and understanding of the profession of Sports Therapy, a sporting background and relevant work experience.

English language requirements
All students from non-majority English speaking countries require proof of English language proficiency. The following qualifications and grades will be considered
- GCSE English language grade A-C
- IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)
