About the course
- This programme offers the opportunity to explore current and future trends in skin integrity services in respect to national healthcare initiatives and professional issues.
- You will study skin integrity, dermatology and wound management and explore related subjects including biosciences, pharmacology, psychology, research and professional issues according to your interests and professional background.
- It has an emphasis on good diagnostic skills, appropriate and timely management of patients with vulnerable skin integrity and inter-professional team working.
- The programme leads to the award of an MSc Skin Integrity Skills & Treatment with interim awards of Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Skin Integrity Skills & Treatment.
- It fulfills the inter-professional learning agenda by providing professional development for a wide range of clinicians including; tissue viability, dermatology and palliative care nurse specialists, community nurses, GPs, FY1 / FY2 doctors, podiatrists, pharmacists and anyone managing patients with impaired skin integrity.

Entry requirements
1. Registration with a professional body allied to medicine or health.
2. Normally a good honors degree, in a related discipline.
3. 1 years’ full-time experience (or equivalent) within a relevant field of practice.
4. The English language requirement for this programme is, IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 580 or equivalent1.
Due to the specialist nature of this programme you will be required to discuss your programme of study with the Programme Leader prior to completing your application form so that your eligibility for particular modules can be assessed.
If you already have a relevent postgraduate qualification you may be able to transfer existing credits into this programme and should contact the Programme Leader Madeleine Flanagan for further advice.
