Entry requirements
Students will not normally be interviewed for admission to the programme, but a supporting reference will be required to confirm that the student's employer will provide the support needed to enable her/him to complete the study within the required period of time. Before making an offer of a place, the Admissions Tutor will be expected to be satisfied that the entry requirements have been met. Because of the inextricable links between theory and practice, the students will be expected to be currently working in the health or social care sector and be able to maintain access to service users for the duration of their programme of study.
Unless otherwise stated by a specific modular entry requirement, the normal entry requirements for the programme are:
- A professional qualification eg nursing, social work, occupational therapy, art therapy etc. and working in health or social care for at least six months.
Or
- 120 credits at level 4 and/or above in a health or social care related topic or equivalent plus a minimum of two years working with service users experiencing mental health problems.
It is essential that students on the programme are supported by their managers as the assessments are practice related.
We are pleased to accept all qualifications included in the UCAS tariff points system (e.g. International Baccalaureate, key skills). More information about our entry requirements.
