About the course

  • This programme provides students with the Stage 1 skills and knowledge to progress to further training in Health Psychology.
  • The core philosophy of the programme relates to its practitioner focus and its emphasis on the role of health psychology as an applied rather than a purely academic discipline. (Currently seeking Accreditation by the Briih Psychological Society)

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (normally 2.1 or above) in Psychology from a BPS-accredited undergraduate programme or an equivalent level award from a BPS-accredited conversion programme. Students with a 2.2 (or equivalent) will be considered if they have additional relevant experience and can demonstrate the necessary academic skills to satisfy the Programme Tutor that they are capable of studying at postgraduate level.

Overseas students must have Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society (BPS) prior to commencing the programme and should have IELTS 6.5 minimum.

English language requirements

All students from non-majority English speaking countries require proof of English language proficiency. The following qualifications and grades will be considered

- GCSE English language grade A-C
- IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)

Other English language tests are accepted. Please contact the International Office for details.
