Entry requirements
Acceptance onto the course is subject to both a successful interview and a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
Applications should be submitted via UCAS before the mid-January deadline. Late applications will be considered at the discretion of the Admissions Tutor.
GCSE: GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade C or above and a dual award in science at grade C or above.
GCE A Levels: 300 UCAS points which must include Chemistry at Grade B and Biology at Grade B plus a 100 points from other AS and/or A-level subjects excluding General Studies.
Foundation Degree: Science related routes are considered. A pass of 60% in all individual subjects and a pass of 70% in Chemistry and a pass of 70% in Biology.
Access to Science Diploma: A pass of 60 credits overall with a minimum of 45 credits at level 3 of which 15 credits at level 3 should include chemistry at distinction level and 15 credits at level 3 should include biology at distinction level. The remaining 15 creadits at level 3 must be a minimum of a merit. 15 remaining credits should be gained at a minimum of level 2.
BTEC National Diploma: DDM profile in science, health studies or sports and exercise science. You will also typically need to have an additional A level in Chemistry at a grade B.
Irish Higher Leaving Certificate: 300 points from 5 subjects at higher level including B1 grades in Chemistry and B1 in Biology.
International Baccalaureate: 30 points including chemistry and biology at higher level grade 5.
Previous Science degrees: Should be in a related subject area i.e. Science, Nutrition, Health or Sports Science. Typically a minimum of 2.2 level of achievement
