About the course
- This programme offers opportunity to develop or extend expertise in established and rapidly developing areas of dermatology.
- You will study dermatology theory and explore related subject matter including biosciences, pharmacology, psychology, research and professional issues according to your interests and professional background.
- It has an emphasis on developing practical competencies to perform skin surgery, good diagnostic skills, appropriate and timely management of skin lesions and common chronic skin diseases.

- It fulfils the inter-professional learning agenda by providing professional development for a wide range of clinicians including; GPs, GP registrars, FY1 / FY2 doctors, dermatology nurse specialists, nurse practitioners and practice nurses.

Entry requirements
If you already have a postgraduate dermatology qualification you may be able to transfer existing credits into this programme and should contact the programme leader Madeleine Flanagan when applying.
- Registration with a professional body allied to medicine or health.
- A good honours degree, in a related discipline.
- 1 years’ full-time experience (or equivalent) within a relevant field of practice.
- The English language requirement for this programme, IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 580 or equivalent1.
- The appropriate visa status to study in the UK2
Due to the specialist nature of this programme you will be required to discuss your programme of study with the Programme Leader prior to completing your application form so that your eligibility for a particular module can be assessed.

English language requirements
All students from non-majority English speaking countries require proof of English language proficiency. The following qualifications and grades will be considered
- GCSE English language grade A-C
- IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)
