About the course

  • Study for the highest CIM qualification
  • Develop your skills and knowledge to become a successful marketer
  • Gain exemptions from the first four modules of the MSc Strategic Marketing

Overview

The full Chartered Postgraduate Diploma consist of two stages. Like the current CIM Postgraduate Diploma, Stage 1 will comprise four units. The aim is to provide the knowledge, skills and knowhow for senior marketing managers, giving them an insight into defining the organisation’s strategic focus, and developing marketing strategies and the corporate communications plan.

Stage 2 is a work-based project, designed to develop the professional skills and competencies required to implement research and/or business projects successfully. Part of the process will be to evaluate the role of these skills in the project, as well as whether the project successfully achieved the intended outcomes. It will also enable students to evaluate behavioural changes in order to develop their skills for interactions at a higher level, ie at a strategic and/or board level.

  • Overall, this qualification has been designed to enable students to:
  • make the transition into strategic management
  • work more cross-functionally at a senior management level
  • make a significant contribution towards the organisation’s corporate and business strategy
  • contribute to board decisions
  • demonstrate a high level of leadership and influence.

The intention is to ensure that CIM’s Chartered Postgraduate Diploma will be a move towards establishing successful students as ‘professional practitioners’ in the field of marketing who can contribute to an organisation’s success.
