Market research indicates that many graduates are drawn into the caring professions, including nursing. This trend is likely to increase during economic downturns.
Students will not pay any tuition fees and receive a non means tested bursary of around £7k per year, with supplements for those with dependants.
The salary for a newly qualified nurse is £20,710.
Graduate nurses are most likely to accelerate through the ranks and Consultant Nurses (the pinnacle of the career structure) earn up to £65, 657. There are also inner London, outer London and fringe supplements to a maximum of £6,010. (pay rates from 1st April 2009)
Nursing students have access to Europe’s largest and most advanced clinical simulation centre which opened in 2007.
