Austen Rainer
Dr Austen Rainer is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire.
He has a PhD in Software Engineering Management, involving research undertaken at IBM Hursley Park, and a BSc(Hons) Applied Psychology and Computing.
Prior to his move into academia he worked in industry, developing and supporting software systems for human resources. Throughout his academic career, he has worked closely with industry on over 30 commercial projects, research collaborations, and postgraduate and undergraduate teaching collaborations
Ron Basu

Ron Basu is the author of 'Managing Project Supply Chains', part of the NCPM's Advances in Project Management series.
Ron is Director of Performance Excellence Ltd and a Visiting Fellow at Henley Business School. He is also a Visiting Professor at SKEMA Business School, France.
Ron specialises in operational excellence and supply chain management and has research interests in performance management and project management.
Previously he held senior management roles in blue-chip companies and led global initiatives and projects in Six Sigma, ERP/ MRPII, supply chain re-engineering and total productive maintenance. Prior to this he worked as management consultant with A. T. Kearney.
Ron Basu has authored a number of books and papers in the operational excellence and project management fields and is a regular presenter of papers in global seminars on project management, Six Sigma and manufacturing and supply chain topics.
He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Institute of Business Consultancy, the Association for Project Management and the Chartered Quality Institute. He is also the winner of an APM Project Management Award.
Peter Critten
Dr Peter Critten is an independent consultant specialising in advising organisations on work-based learning and facilitating organisational change.
Peter works with organisations to help them connect up learning in the workplace in such a way as to have an impact on the organisation as a whole.
Peter has over 30 years experience of designing and organising training and development in both the private and public sectors. He has published three books and written numerous articles and conference papers on work-based learning and organisational change.
Steve Power

Steve Power BSc MBCS CEng CITP MAPM is an independent consultant specialising in providing project management consultancy and training to a variety of clients. He is also an instructor with Learning Tree International.
Steve has written and delivered courses for many organisations, and has worked as an associate lecturer for the Open University.
His clients include DHL, the European Commission, Imperial College London, Learning Tree International, London Borough of Islington, National Car Parks and Yell.
One of his areas of speciality is the management of externally funded projects; he has worked on many European Commission funded projects including the recent OPUS and REORIENT projects.
Steve Wake

Steve Wake MA MAPM is a leading project management consultant and author with an international reputation. He actively champions the use of Best Practice Earned Value Project Management and BS6079 Guide to Project Management.
Steve is Chairman at the Specific Interest Group SIG Earned Value in the UK. He believes that 'the vast majority of project management theory, solutions and methodologies are over-complex and over-engineered to the benefit of the consultant and the detriment of customers'.
Steve has experience in the following sectors: aerospace, defence, construction, transport, automotive, engineering, FMCG, manufacturing and software development. He is the recognised UK champion and expert on Earned Value Management, a best practice project management technique.
