Undergraduate Open Days

Open Days give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about your course of interest and what life is like in the School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics.

Already applied for a course?

Open daysIf you have applied via UCAS to study on one of our Undergraduate degree programmes, you will normally receive an invitation to come along to one of our Open Days.

These open days include:

  • Opportunity to interact with our staff and current students
  • Subject talks
  • An informal interview with a member of staff
  • Tours of our undergraduate and research laboratories (Physics and Astrophysics) including the chance to try out demonstrations and hear about Laboratory Physics in the first year of our degree
  • A tour of our teaching observatory at Bayfordbury (Physics and Astrophysics)

Postgraduate Open Days

Our postgraduate open days are a good opportunity for you to find out about the range of courses we offer and discover the one that's right for you.

Our research

Physics lecturers and researchers within the School are members of the Centre for Atmospheric and Instrumentation Research (CAIR) which has strengths in light scattering, instrumentation and atmospheric physics.
