Josh Warner
Legal Practice Course
The University of Hertfordshire has provided me with the legal and practical skills needed to succeed in my forthcoming legal career.
I graduated from Birmingham University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Laws 2.1 honours degree, and in 2008 I embarked on the part-time LPC at the University of Hertfordshire.
I was immediately struck with the friendly, enviable atmosphere. In clear comparison to some larger institutions offering the LPC, the University of Hertfordshire's School of Law offers up close and personal teaching.
The tutors know your name and you are never short of their support.
Further still, the School of Law actively support LPC students' legal careers, by organising networking events with local solicitors from the Hertfordshire area and I have myself gained interviews through such events.
As an aspiring solicitor I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to secure that desired 'Training Contract', however through actively promoting oneself through networking events, gaining non-paid legal work experience, taking advantage of the career advice available and persevering through countless Trainee Application Forms it is possible.
If you, like me, want something then you will eventually get it.
In December 2009 I successfully secured a training contract.
The School of Law at the University of Hertfordshire has provided me with a thorough grounding to both the legal and practical skills needed to succeed in my forthcoming legal career.
