The BA Acting and Screen Performance: Combined or Joint Honours
Acting and Screen performance investigates the practical, theoretical and historical aspects of film-making and cinema, you will study the history of acting and its uses beyond the tradition of theatre and film.
The practical side of the programme will allow you to build up your confidence by playing characters for performances, practice interviews and mock press conferences, and character presentations. Role play is a unique part of this course.

What will Acting and Screen Performance do for my career?
Students graduating from this programme will be ideally placed to work in areas of role-play such as in leisure and museum work, staff development and in-business training. Acting and Screen Performance can be studied alongside up to 3 other humanities subjects.
Ideal combinations for you might be Acting and Screen Performance with English Literature and Creative Writing; Acting and Screen Performance with History or Acting and Screen Performance with New Media Publishing and Journalism.
You will be able to apply many verbal and physical strategies of successful performance.
You will have the opportunity to work with others in class debate, workshops and discussions and drama exercises.
You will be able to act or direct your own drama of film project or go do a work placement at a local theatre.
We would encourage you to engage in extracurricular opportunities offered by the Film and Digital Media Exchange, Crush Radio, UH Arts and local theatres so that you have something concrete to put on your CV.
I studied Drama at A level, is it right for me?
We are seeking to recruit students who are ambitious, hard-working, outgoing and who thrive on team work. You must be interested in acting, and film performance; if you have an A level in theatre studies, film or drama that would be an advantage but it is not strictly essential.
