Which type of course should I choose?
There are a number of entry levels and study options to choose from.
Foundation Degrees
This two-year course provides a stand-alone qualification with the opportunity to progress on to either the second or final year of a BA/BSc honours top-up course at the University of Hertfordshire if you want to. Progression is dependent on your results. Find out more about Foundation Degrees.
Extended Degrees
If you don't have the formal entry qualification for Higher education, an extended degree can provide a flexible solution. You will study at the college for your first year to gain all of the necessary subjects to bring you up to the required standard to progress on to the first year of a science, engineering or selected joint honours degrees. See what you can learn on an Extended Degree course.
Higher Nationals
A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Certificate (HNC) is a nationally recognised qualification which you can achieve in two years of full-time study or by part-time study. They are normally in employment related areas, such as business and IT. The Diploma of Higher Education can also be achieved in two years.
These courses all offer progression to the second year of a BA or BSc Honours Degree, and sometimes direct entry to the final year of a related BA/BSc Honours Degree if your results are exceptionally good.
A member of the admissions team at your chosen college can advise you on the most appropriate route for your personal circumstances.
What facilities will I have access to?
