Overview

What is health visiting?
Some health care practitioners are qualified to visit patients in their homes, taking medical advice and care to where they are. When people are immobile or too sick to visit a surgery or a hospital, a health visitor will travel out to visit the patient.
What does it involve?
Often health visitors will be responsible for their own transportation, so a reliable car and a clean driver’s licence are a must. You would also have to be extremely organised, making sure you have all the equipment and medications you might need before you set out for a visit.

- GP surgeries and community clinics
- Private health care facilities
What personal attributes does a health visitor require?

- Self-motivation
