Industrial Advisory Groups for Engineering and Technology

Two men talking in an engineering lab.

The School of Engineering and Technology has 3 Industrial Advisory Groups (IAGs) which represent the areas of Aerospace, Automotive & Mechanical and Electrical engineering.

The aim of these Groups is to continually review and develop engineering and technology teaching, research and commercial activity for the short and long term benefit of students, staff, the University and industry.

The Groups look after the mutual interest of the University, the School and the companies of the panel members. This includes providing advice on:

  • changing market trends
  • enhancing employability of graduates
  • investigating areas of mutual technological interest
  • increasing student participation in work placements
  • facilitating exchanges of staff between the School and industry
