Although an important criterion for the award of the Brian May Scholarship will be prior academic performance, the Assessment Panel will wish to look at the wider achievements of students, their motivations for wishing to carry out a research programme in astronomy, and their future aspirations.

Yes. Together with your application, you will be asked to submit one-side of A4 which outlines:
- achievements you wish to bring to the attention of the Assessment Panel
- your motivations for wishing to carry out a research programme in astronomy
- your future aspirations
