School of Health and Social Work Alumni
Based on College Lane, this School is made up of 3 departments:
- Allied Health Professions and Midwifery
- Adult Nursing and Primary Care
- Nursing and Social Work
About the school
This School has continued to push boundaries in training for health and social work professionals, starting with the nursing course in 1988 and including the introduction of the first BSc(Hons) Paramedic Science degree in the country in 1998.
Today, the School is one of the country's largest providers of health and social work education; all programmes are approved by key professional bodies and regulators, with the majority of academic staff qualified in a health discipline.
The School continues to undertake international-quality research and runs mentoring for the healthcare professions.
These activities take place in a state-of-the-art environment, which includes the £30million Health Sciences Building and other specialist skills labs.
