Bedtime story becomes book
Alumnus Peter Sear, BSc (Hons) Psychology, 1997, has recently published his first children’s book.
‘Poo’ was first read to his daughters and it instantly became their favourite bedtime story. After finding similar responses from friends’ children he decided to publish it, with his cousin providing the wonderful illustrations that accompany the story.
‘Poo’ follows the adventures of The Boy in Blue, giving both children and adults permission to indulge in a bit of matter-of-fact, snigger-free exploration. Simple rhymes combine with colourful pictures to create a poo-orientated story that is perfect for inquisitive toddlers to listen to, older children and bashful adults to read.
Peter is currently working on other children’s books and writing a novel for older readers. His next children’s book to follow ‘Poo’ will be called ‘Ouch’, which is entertaining and educational, and aims to warn children about some of nature’s dangers.
