Alumnus Jide Johnson Shortlisted For Shell Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award
Animation alumnus down to final eight in Shell's annual award for entrepreneurs
Alumnus Jide Johnson (BA(Hons) Animation, 2010) is one of eight finalists for this year’s Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2012. He has been nominated for his company Aniboxx, a video production company that creates short animated films to help companies communicate and engage with their target audiences.
Jide said, “"I'm shocked and overwhelmed at the nomination. Whether I win or not, Shell have done quite a bit to support Aniboxx in our journey. It’s simply made me rise to the challenge even more, whilst making me more aware of the importance of having an in-depth business plan where I take everything into consideration. The University of Hertfordshire has also played a huge part in the development of our business to date. I would like to thank the Vice-Chancellor for supporting innovative business people who graduated from the University."
Last November Jide was awarded £1,000 in the Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award scheme. From then, Aniboxx has gone from strength to strength, working with top companies including Google, Ariadne Capital and TOMS.
The awards ceremony will take place 14 November in central London, where the winning entrepreneur will be awarded £10,000. Good luck Jide!
