Alumna Named As Regions Higher Apprentice Of The Year
Alumna's achievements recognised at region's 2012 National Apprenticeship Awards
Alumna Charlotte Hutton, who graduated last month with a first class BA(Hons) degree in Business Studies, has been named as 'Higher Apprentice of the Year' in the region’s final of the 2012 National Apprenticeship Awards.
Charlotte had been working as a Commercial Apprentice with multinational defence company MBDA Missile Systems, based in Stevenage, throughout her degree.
She said, 'I am delighted to have been awarded the Central Eastern regional winner title. Being able to combine academic study in my degree and work-based learning throughout my apprenticeship has meant that I developed a detailed knowledge and awareness about how business is conducted in a complex and innovative industry.
'I couldn’t have achieved this award without the support of my employer and the University, and would recommend that other students and graduates ensure that they make the most out of all educational and work-based experiences offered to them.'
Last month, Charlotte was also Highly Commended for the 'National Higher Apprentice of the Year' Award after reaching the top 3 in the country. Following graduation, she is continuing to work for MBDA as a Bid Manager, where she focuses on sales and business development through managing bid campaigns for both domestic and export customers.
