3 June 2013

Hannah Oyewole

Social entrepreneur selected as top three finalist in prestigious award

Social entrepreneur Hannah Oyewole (BA(Hons) Business Management, 2010) has been selected as a top three finalist for the Black Youth Achievement Award, in the business and enterprise category.

The award is a direct result of her company, Young Ladies Club, which aims to empower and inspire young women between 16 and 25. Hannah says that “Young Ladies Club focuses on employability, education, entrepreneurship and personal development. I believe that through these areas young women can excel and change their lives”.

The reach of Hannah’s company is evident as it was recently part of the Microsoft Employability Conference held at the Microsoft headquarters in Reading. The event provided an opportunity for young women to gain information about the culture of the organisation and the Microsoft graduate scheme.

Hannah is passionate about what she does. Whilst she recognises that everyone faces challenges, she believes that what really separates those who succeed is active steps of faith and belief in their vision. She challenges others who have a vision, saying “no matter what you face in life, always remember to get back up and move towards your dreams”.

The awards ceremony will be held on 10th November 2012 at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill.
