Diamond Fund cheque

36 students participated in the two week calling campaign, speaking to over 2,000 alumni

During February, 36 current University of Hertfordshire students participated in a 2-week alumni calling campaign as part of the Diamond Fund. They spoke to over 2,000 alumni, many of whom had inspirational stories and advice to share with students.

Raising £15,379 for the Diamond Fund was just part of the campaign’s success - many of our alumni were keen to support current students and offered to come in and speak about their careers, provide work placements, internships and community fundraising events.

We have been delighted with the support the 2013 telephone campaign received. It is a testament to the generosity of our alumni and the passion you have for your University.

One student caller said: 'I enjoyed speaking to past students, and hearing what they have done since. I really loved the advice they passed on!'

The Diamond Fund aims to recognise and support students and staff who want to realise a significant goal, and awards funds to areas that create opportunity and make a real difference. You can find out more by viewing the Diamond Fund video below.

The University would also like to thank the Harlequin shopping centre, Coca Cola, Food Hertfordshire and the local branches of Boots and Domino’s Pizza for their kind support of the 2013 calling campaign.
