- counselling
- pharmacy
- on-site medical centre staffed with doctors and nurses from a local surgery
The Hertfordshire Students' Union also has comprehensive support available that is independent from the University.
Extra curricular activities
Your child can get the most out of their time at the University by getting involved in the range of extra curricular activities we have available.
We provide many opportunities to experience more than simply studying for a degree. There are opportunities to add a variety of extra curricular experience to their CV, placing them in a better position to gain the job of their choice at the end of their time with us.
Our Careers and Placements Service works with current students and recent graduates to improve their CV and gain work experiences, placements and job interviews.
The Hertfordshire Students' Union offers opportunities for students to get involved with range of initiatives and events all of which is good experience to increase their employability.
Safety
Knowing your child will be safe when studying at our University is important.
We are located in a small town. Our excellent Security Team work across all the University of Hertfordshire sites, and during large events we employ extra staff to make sure campuses are as safe as they can be.
We have excellent relationships with the local police, and we have our own assigned police team, who can regularly be seen around campus.
Social life and friends
Your son or daughter will soon settle in and make friends.
There are many events during Freshers' Week to develop friendships, as well as activities on the individual courses to encourage a sense of belonging.
There is also an active social life on campus which will give them plenty of opportunities to meet other students.
