School mentoring coordinator role

A vital aspect for a successful school mentoring programme is the school mentoring coordinator – a dedicated member of staff who can coordinate the mentor scheme and champion the benefits of the mentoring project in school.
If you enjoy helping young people to develop their skills and grow in ways that will ultimately benefit the whole school, you will find the mentoring coordinator role rewarding.
Help your school mentoring scheme succeed
As a mentoring coordinator, you will:
- provide your knowledge and school expertise to match the mentors with younger pupils in need of extra support within your school
- arrange mentor meeting times and venues to ensure they take place. The mentoring coordinator role may take at least 2 hours per week
How we support you
We supply the mentor scheme training and:
- all of the materials and resources you need to operate, monitor and evaluate a school mentoring programme or peer mentor scheme
How the pupils benefit
Your pupils gain new energy and enthusiasm for mentoring. This needs to be channelled and activated by a committed mentoring coordinator to ensure the scheme success.
