About our mentors and coaches
Our mentors and coaches are mostly University of Hertfordshire students who use their own experience to encourage and support both school pupils and students currently studying at our University.
Each year we recruit over 300 students to work on our mentoring and coaching projects. Other mentors are University staff and people from the local business community.
A detailed recruitment process is in place to ensure the suitability of the mentors and coaches for their roles and their commitment to the programmes. This includes an application form, interview, CRB check and up to 2 days of training.
There is ongoing support for the mentors and coaches and continual monitoring of all our programmes.
