Mentoring opportunities for schools

Schools across Hertfordshire can benefit from a mentoring programme for their pupils, thanks to the range of mentoring schemes and staff mentor training courses on offer at the University of Hertfordshire Mentoring Unit.
Our mentoring schemes for primary schools and secondary schools and mentor training courses for school staff will allow your pupils and staff to develop additional skills and build positive new relationships.
We can train you on how to adapt or evaluate your existing mentoring scheme to ensure best practice, or support and assist you in setting up a new mentoring scheme in your school.
We provide all of the resources you need to introduce and run a mentoring scheme, such as:
- training that’s customised to your school aims for your pupils and/or school staff
- all of the materials you will need to run and monitor a mentoring scheme: learning logs, mentoring guidelines and mentoring toolkits
- a secure online e-mentoring service for pupils to raise achievement
- if required - external mentors from our extensive database of trained and CRB checked mentors
You simply need to elect a committed member of school staff as mentoring coordinator, so they can lead and coordinate the mentoring project for you.
We will provide your mentoring coordinator with all of the materials and resources you need to start and sustain a successful mentoring project in your school.
