How we are organised

Ambitious and entrepreneurial, we’ve focused on becoming a model of a twenty-first century university since gaining university status in 1992.

We work locally and globally, engaging with business, the community and international partners. And we’re committed to equipping our students with all the skills they need for the modern global workplace.

How we operate

  • The University Board of Governors has overall responsibility for running the University.
  • The Academic Board oversees all academic policies, and procedures related to research. It also sets criteria for student admission.
  • The Office of the Vice-Chancellor oversees the day-to-day running of the University, including staff leadership and student discipline.
  • The University Court advises the University on developing its objectives and looks at our impact on the wider community.
  • We also have a number of subsidiary companies.
