Overview of Travel Plan

The University is committed to offering sustainable travel options to, around and from campus.

The UNO bus company is wholly owned by the University of Hertfordshire and offers a network of bus routes across Hertfordshire, North London and South Bedfordshire linking the University with major towns and transport routes to help alleviate the amount of car traffic on the roads.

Our travel plan sets out our commitment to promoting and making available sustainable travel alternatives to the car.

Scott Copsey, Travel Plan Coordinator is involved with several projects, all of which are contributing to important work in the support of sustainable travel options.

The Quality Network Partnership (QNP) project is a partnership initiative between local councils, bus companies and the University and is the first of its kind.

The FreshWays to Work project is an EU funded project offering travel planning consultancy and expertise to Small and Medium sized businesses in Hertfordshire and Suffolk.

Initiatives including staff/student benefits

The University offers a variety of discounts and travel incentives including free shuttle services between campuses, free staff bus passes for all bus routes between its two main campuses, tax reduced bicycles for staff and discounts on coach and rail travel.
