Energy Certificates
Energy Performance of Buildings Directive
The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive is currently being implemented across Europe with the aim to increase the energy efficiency of buildings.
One of the key elements of this legislation is for larger public buildings, including some of our non-residential buildings, to have in place in their main entrance areas Display Energy Certificates showing the actual energy consumed and carbon emitted in the preceding three years.
At the University we are currently putting in place the following documentation for each of our Campus sites and other satellite sites:
- Display Energy Certificate - Display Energy Certificates show the operational rating of a specific building. The rating is shown on a scale of A to G, A being the best performance and G the worst.
- Advisory Reports - The Advisory Reports detail the results of an energy audit which take into account how the building is used, the facilities (heating and ventilation) and the fabric of the building and provides proposals for improvement.
- Technical Table - The Technical Tables provide further information about energy use and carbon dioxide emissions
