Conference Hertfordshire, on behalf of the University of Hertfordshire, has teamed up with Ultimate Artists to deliver a 10-day music development workshop to budding musicians and aspiring artists who will perform to a live audience in Hatfield in August.

Ultimate Artists on Campus, running at the University of Hertfordshire from 11 - 20 August 2017, will help talented artists of all ages develop their vocal skills, gain performance experience and develop new networks within the sector. This internationally acclaimed workshop has already attracted students from across Europe, including Slovenia, Malta and Israel.

The mentoring programme will culminate in a final performance where more than 50 budding artists will perform on Saturday 19 August at the University of Hertfordshire’s The Forum. Artists performing at the final event will deliver solo, duet and group performances to an audience of media and A & R representatives alongside local live music aficionados.

Exclusive access to experienced mentors

Joshua Alamu, the vocal coach on TV shows such as ‘The Voice’ and ‘X-Factor’, realised that young artists needed more than just voice coaching; they also needed an understanding of, and exposure to, the music industry. This is where the idea for the Ultimate Artists mentoring scheme sprung from and this year Ultimate Artists will be joined by the likes of Fleur East, of the The Unsigned Music Awards, YouTube, and many more, to give aspiring artists a realistic look at the music business.

Experienced award winning coaches, including Joshua, will share their experiences and understanding of the following areas as part of the course:

  • Vocal Technique, Style and Health
  • Songwriting (Beginner & Advanced)
  • Production / Studio (Writing and Recording)
  • Song Performance & Connection (Beginner & Advanced)
  • Performance & Delivery
  • Brand and Artist Identity
  • Backing Vocals & Harmony
  • Band and Improvisation
  • Music Business
