Applying to university is a big step. Our guide will help you to understand the process and key dates, supporting you at every stage of your journey.

How to apply for an undergraduate course
September 2024 entry
Make a late (or UCAS Extra) application
For undergraduate courses starting in September 2024 (including extended and foundation degrees), if you didn’t apply by the 31 January UCAS equal consideration deadline (or have changed your mind about the course/university you want to apply to) then don’t worry! There’s still time to apply and start this year, and you can beat the rush of Clearing. Here’s what to do if:
You haven’t already applied to university
If you missed the original UCAS equal consideration deadline of 31 January to make a university application, you can still make a ‘late application’ before the 4 July. Don’t panic though, because making the right choice is important and can take a bit of time.

You have already applied to other universities
If you have used all five of your choices on your original application but you are not holding an offer, you’ll be able to add another choice using UCAS Extra from 28 February. Whether you have received decisions from all five choices and weren’t accepted, or if you declined the offers you received, you have another chance to apply.
To apply via UCAS Extra, simply log onto UCAS and add another choice in UCAS Hub. For more information on how to do this and a step-by-step guide, visit the UCAS website.
September 2025 entry
For undergraduate courses starting in September 2025 (including extended and foundation degrees), you should submit your application by the January UCAS equal consideration deadline of 29 January 2025. Universities must consider all applications received by this time equally, and do not have to consider applications received after the deadline.
Don’t forget to use a personal email address rather than a school or college one when applying, as this may become inactive at a certain point and you’ll miss out on vital information from us.

We are committed to providing transparent information to our potential applicants to assist them when they are deciding which programme to study.
The information published on our transparency page shows:
- The number of applications for admission on to recognised, undergraduate higher education courses that we have received from UK domiciled applicants.
- The number of offers we have made in relation to those applications.
- The number of those offers accepted and the number of those who have registered with us.
- The number of students who attained a particular degree or other academic award, or a particular level of such an award, on completion of their course with us.
It also shows these numbers by reference to:
- The gender of the individuals to which they relate
- Their ethnicity
- Their socio-economic background.

In some cases, students who are applying to study with us may not have reached the age of 18 years at the time of registration. Although we recognise that all students expect to receive the educational service that they are paying for, students under the age of 18 will not legally have reached the age of adulthood in the UK and so they will still be subject to certain rules and requirements that apply to those under the age of 18 (for example, in relation to safeguarding).
This may have an impact on how the University delivers its programmes: for example, it may present challenges for the University in securing an appropriate range and scope of practice placements, which might cause delays to the programme of study or have financial implications for those under 18.
The University will take all reasonable steps to seek to minimise any disruption to study arising from this.
