Stimulating enterprising mind-sets in young children, Lucy Griffiths is keen to talk about her latest project.

Lucy Griffiths, who studied her MBA at the University of Hertfordshire, has recently set up a new social enterprise called 'We are Lucky.' The enterprise aims to develop and inspire young children's mind-sets to 'make their own luck' in life, using the Island Friends children's book series as the main focus for this.

The books are aimed at children between two and seven years old. With the help of co-author Chris Thomas, she has recently successfully crowd-funded the first three volumes using the Kickstarter platform and is currently developing further resources to help teachers and families to engage with the books and their messages. 'We were overwhelmed by the response to the campaign from our backers, and from the education sector. We'd love to eventually develop a whole range of additional stories, learning materials, and maybe even an animated series and really hope the books will have a positive impact on the lives of the young people who read them.'

Lucy worked as a Marketing Manager at the University between 2003 and 2008 and went on to complete her CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and MBA at the Hertfordshire Business School in 2006 and 2008 respectively. 'It was a fantastic place to study - the teaching staff were excellent, and the study facilities are some of the best I've encountered in the UK.  During my time there I also made a huge number of friends many of whom I am still in touch with today.'
