Top Uk High Street Pharmacy Joins School Of Pharmacy For Presentation Day

5 June 2013

The popular high street pharmacy Lloyds Pharmacy joined University of Hertfordshire School of Pharmacy’s 3rd Annual Presentation Day on Wednesday to award MPharm students for outstanding work and achievement.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society and MedPharm also awarded prizes to celebrate the continuing excellence in research work and best students by subject area.

Lloyds Pharmacy works closely with School of Pharmacy providing work placements for University of Hertfordshire MPharm students; giving students opportunity to gain vital experience and develop skills in the pharmaceutical industry.

In total, 20 awards were presented including outstanding research work and best student by subject. Students had the opportunity to display their research work for fellow students and academics to view.

Farakh Riaz, year four MPharm student, says: 'I think it is absolutely fantastic that the School of Pharmacy recognises student achievements at a formal presentation event. I recall attending such an event as a first year student and finding the process very inspiring and motivating. In addition, it was interesting to listen to the key research direction within the school and realising how the final year projects contribute to this strategy.'

Professor Rob Chilcott from the Health Protection Agency gave a guest lecture and research presentations were also given by Dr Maisoon Ghaleb, Dr Woei-Ping Cheng and Dr Lee Martin from the School of Pharmacy.
