BEd Primary Education with QTS Top-up Evening

Who is it for?

This open evening is for students who have significant classroom experience (e.g. as a teaching assistant, learning support assistant or unqualified teacher) and wish to top-up their Foundation degree and gain Qualified Teacher Status in 1 year of full-time study. If you can answer yes to all of the below then direct entry to the BEd (Hons) course will help you top-up your degree:

  • I am interested in a career in primary teaching
  • I am completing a foundation degree in Early Years or Teaching and Learning Support this year
  • I have significant experience of teaching and planning whole classes or groups
  • I have GCSE Mathematics, English Language and Science at Grade 4 or above (Grade C or above under the previous grading structure).

Why attend?

Our open evening is designed to give you as much information as you need in order to make decisions about your future study and career as a teacher. This event will be themed around answering your questions and supporting you in starting the application process. There will also be an opportunity to meet tutors, have your questions answered and have a tour of the School of Education and campus facilities.
