The Vice-Chancellor's annual lecture 2013
Professor Quintin McKellar will deliver his 2013 public lecture on the topic of agriculture and food security.
Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread
Without action, food crisis is an inevitability. It may creep up slowly as global population expands faster than food production or it may strike unexpectedly as a consequence of extreme weather or other calamitous event. We are after all only eight meals from anarchy and if we do not increase productivity and embrace contingency plans the consequence will be social unrest and deprivation.
How should the University of Hertfordshire respond to this challenge? Come to the lecture and find out!
