The Museum of St Albans is located on Hatfield Road in St Albans, a busy market town about 20 minutes from central London by train.

Directions

By road

Postcode: AL1 3RR

Go to M25 Jct 22 and go towards St Albans on the A1081 London Road.

At the next roundabout, take the second exit and continue along London Road.

After going under a rail bridge go across the next roundabout.

At the next mini-roundabout turn right and go across the first set of traffic lights.

At the next set of lights, turn right onto Hatfield Road.

Go along Hatfield Road until you reach a double mini-roundabout, and go straight across.

The Museum of St Albans is on Hatfield Road, next to the St Albans Liberal Club on the right hand side of the street, about 200 metres past the double mini-roundabout.

 

Parking


Visitor parking is available at the Museum.

Parking in St Albans is severely restricted during working hours.

By rail

The Museum of St Albans is a short walk from:

  • St Albans City station
  • St Albans Abbey station

St Albans City station is on the service between Brighton and Bedford via Gatwick Airport. This connects at London Bridge with services to South East London and the Kent Coast.

Direct trains between:

  • St Albans and Luton (journey time 15 minutes)
  • Bedford (journey time 35 minutes) connect with Intercity services to and from the North and the East Midlands.

Shuttle service

St Albans Abbey station has a shuttle service to and from Watford Junction. Visit the Uno website for full shuttle bus timetables including service outside of term time.
