About UHArts
Who we are
Founded in 1996, UHArts is an umbrella organisation promoting the arts and maximising the use of the University of Hertfordshire’s arts venues, performance spaces and galleries for professional arts events.
What we do
We offer a seasonal programme encompassing a lively mix of music, dance, theatre, literature, comedy and the visual arts. We place a strong emphasis on offering a diverse range of high quality exhibitions and events.
The calibre of our venues in Hatfield and St Albans enables us to showcase the best the region has to offer, and we attract some of the best touring productions and exhibitions. We also offer education and outreach programmes for the wider community.
What are the aims of UHArts?
We aim to inspire our students, staff and community, with an entertaining and affordable progamme of arts events. At the same time we hope to raise the cultural profile of the University of Hertfordshire by attracting critically-acclaimed productions and artists.
Working with the community
Our arts programme also promotes links with our local community: we hold an annual Open Exhibition where local artists show their work in the university galleries, as well as performances by community groups in The Weston Auditorium.
