UH Galleries on tour

Formally established in 1995, UH Galleries are among the most innovative contemporary art spaces in the UK. UH Galleries comprise of the Margaret Harvey Gallery in St Albans, and the Art and Design Gallery at the University’s main campus in Hatfield; both venues having close links to London.

Over the last five years the galleries’ programme of regularly changing exhibitions have included new commissions, as well as group and solo exhibitions by an international group of artists who have gone on to carve significant careers in contemporary visual arts, crafts, applied arts and design.

We are consistently developing new projects for potential touring, and have gained a reputation for excellence in this field. Major successes have included Erasmus Schroeter, Theatre of the Unseen 2002-3; Eve Sussman, 89 Seconds at Alcazar 2004-5; and most recently Do Not Refreeze: Photography Behind the Berlin Wall 2007-8. All of these exhibitions have toured widely throughout the UK and have been the result of active collaboration in fundraising and curation between UH Galleries and other regional galleries.

Our touring packages include catalogues, transportation of the works to the venue, curatorial and installation guidance and most importantly a professional and friendly dialogue between ourselves and those we work in partnership with.

The touring exhibitions which UH Galleries are currently offering are:

  • Marty St James: Moving yet Frozen
  • Kiss Kiss, Kill Kill
  • Paul Teigh and Martin Russell: Beyond the Plenum
  • Tereza Kotyk: Personal Tempest
